OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said by empowering the community they have “learned that users want a fast, smooth, and clean user experience”. OnePlus calls this ‘burden-less’, Lau said, adding: “Beyond creating the best possible Android phone, we work to provide more value to users by ensuring the smartphone experience is not dominated by bloatware and intrusive notifications. The making of Team FSE helps create a recurring theme across all user reviews of OnePlus phone experiences as fast and smooth.”

OnePlus will make the latest Developer Preview of Android P available for use on the OnePlus 6. This will be valuable for the developer community, who need a skilled device with the latest version of Android to test out their apps and services. Developers will be able to use the OnePlus 6 for testing and adapt their apps for the new display notch cut out — a feature that Android P will support natively, which will eventually be accepted by the market as a standard feature.
